Vince Ricci: Stanford BA '92, NYU MA '01
I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and have also lived in New Orleans, and New York City. A career educator, I graduated from Stanford University with a BA in history in 1992 and have been recognized with such honors as the Distinguished Teaching Award for the State of Louisiana and 1996 Non-Profit Program of the Year for my direction of Newman Summerbridge in New Orleans.
I completed my M.A. in Educational Communication & Technology at NYU. As a Founding Technologist at Columbia University’s Center for New Media Teaching & Learning, I taught professors how to effectively leverage technology into their courses. While in New York, I also developed marketing strategies for interactive exhibit designer Edwin Schlossberg and provided sales force automation training for Pfizer.
I originally came to Tokyo to complete an educational technology project with broadband pioneers Pacific Century CyberWorks (PCCW) Japan. In my subsequent job as one of the most popular and successful counselors at Japan's leading provider of standardized test-preparation, I jointly managed a US$1,000,000/year counseling business and was directly responsible maintaining the quality of over $250,000 in classes. I directed a team of five other counselors to completely overhaul the print, web and video-based curriculum contents for MBA essay question analysis and writing, resume production, and interview skills. I also taught graduate engineering students at The University of Tokyo how to improve their public speaking and presentation skills.
I live in Tokyo with my wife and two year-old old son.
